Helping Pets and their caretakers improve their health and wellbeing with
Has been studying Tai Chi for over 25 years and in that time has gathered a wealth of information that I would like to share with you.
I am also a professionally trained Therapist in small animal massage at the Bancroft school of massage.
I was introduced to Tai Chi in the late 1980's joining Richard Sebastian's class. Malcolm McKeag took over the class in 1989. I have been studying with Malcolm since.
I have had the privilege of taking classes and seminars under many of the "greats" in Tai Chi including Master Jou Tsung Hwa, Yang Wing-Ming, Jianye Jiang, Dong Zeng Chen and Master Wen-Ching Wu from Way of the Dragon, I also attained a certification in Tai Chi for Arthritis from Jay Van Schelt (developed by Dr. Paul Lam, Sun Style).
Studying Small animal massage at Bancroft has opened my eyes to the benefits of massage, as with people a massage can feel wonderful, it relaxes and restores the body promoting fascial release.
No wonder that the animals love it.
Animals can suffer from stress from fears of noise or Separation, or Physical issues like arthritis, or pain from strain, due to running or jumping.
Pet Massage: Increases flexability and enhances movement, it builds trust, increases comfort level in geriatric animals and restores energy balance.
Massage (not all pets are accepting immediately) calming music, essential oils (pet friendly) treats with your approval.
Benefits of massage:
Animal massage decreases pain, it activates sensory receptors and can stimulate or sooth the nervous system, massage mechanically stretches and broadens tissue.
Massage helps with range of motion in animals with arthritis or after surgery, lubricating joints and promoting healthy tissue.

KEY TAKEAWAYS
Tai Chi and Qi Gong seek to improve the flow of Chi (life force, a form of energy) through the body, this has many benifits, with practice it will boost your immune system, and improve your balance, mentaly and physicaly.
Studies have been done with promising results for lowering blood pressure, improved heart rate and increasing bone desity.
Exercises are done slowly, with fluid circular movements, with a focus on strengthening ligaments and joint's.
Benefits of Tai Chi:
Tai Chi is more than an exercise, its awareness of self and surroundings, are you able to lift your spirit when needed? breathing exercises can achieve this. It's an exercise for the body and mind helping you stay sharp as you age. Benifits include improvement with balance, energy and coordination.
With continued classes you can achieve balance between mind and body, interrupt a busy mind, i call it my mini vacation.
